Earth Day 2021
Join Plainfield Recreation, The Last Green Valley, and Horizon Wings for a FREE family fun Earth Day event at Lion's Park next to Plainfield Town Hall. The first half of the event will be guest speaker Bill Reid, Chief Ranger of The Last Green Valley National Heritage Corridor. Bill will discuss what the Last Green Valley is, why it's so unique, and why we need to protect it.

The second half of our event will be guest speaker Mary-Beth Kaeser, Founder and President of Horizon Wings, a non-profit Wildlife Rehabilitation Center specializing in Birds of Prey located in Ashford, CT. Mary-Beth will bring along some friends (birds) with her that include an Eagle, Common Kestrels, and a Northern Saw-Whet Owl. She'll discuss how all of these birds can be found in The Last Green Valley but are all listed as special concern or threatened.
