Summer Positions for the 2026 Season
The Town of Plainfield Recreation Department is now accepting applications for summer positions to support our seasonal summer programs.
These positions are ideal for energetic, responsible individuals who enjoy working with the youth in the community and being active outdoors during summer months. Summer positions offer valuable work experience, opportunities to develop leadership and teamwork skills, and a fun, fast-paced summer work environment.

Off Site Positions from Plainfeld Recreation
Summer Camp Counselors
9AM-3PM $16.94/hr
Age Requirements: Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.
Job Duties: Assisting with summer programs while supervising and engaging with youth enrolled in the programs. Setting up and breaking down equipment, fields, and activity areas. Maintaining cleanliness and safety of facilities, equipment, and area. Performing tasks given out by your Supervisor for daily operations of the camp, which may result in helping out in other job positions in the program.
Summer Camp Am Counselors
7:45AM-3PM $16.94/hr
Age Requirements: Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.
Job Duties: Assisting with summer programs while supervising and engaging with youth enrolled in the programs. Setting up and breaking down equipment, fields, playground, and activity areas. Maintaining cleanliness and safety of facilities, equipment, and area. Performing tasks given out by your Supervisor for daily operations of the camp, which may result in helping out in other job positions in the program.

8:15AM-3PM $16.94/hr

Maintaining cleanliness and safety of facilities, equipment, and area you are assigned to work in. Performing and instructing field and outdoor games planned out by your Supervisor for daily operations of the camp, which may result in helping out in other job positions and areas in the program.
Gym Counselor
9AM-3PM $17.10/hr
Age Requirements: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Job Duties: Assisting with summer programs while supervising and engaging with youth enrolled in the programs. Setting up and breaking down equipment, gymnasium, playground, and activity areas. Maintaining cleanliness and safety of facilities, equipment, and area you are assigned to work in. Performing and instructing gym games and sports activities planned out by your Supervisor for daily operations of the camp, which may result in helping out in other job positions and areas in the program.
Fun Zone Counselor
9AM-3PM $17.10/hr
Age Requirements: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Job Duties: Assisting with summer programs while supervising and engaging with youth enrolled in the programs. Setting up and breaking down equipment, classroom, playground, and activity areas. Maintaining cleanliness and safety of facilities, equipment, and area you are assigned to work in. Performing and instructing games, activities, and dances planned out by your Supervisor for daily operations of the camp, which may result in helping out in other job positions and areas in the program.

Art Counselor
9AM-3PM $17.10/hr
