Salute the Troops 5K, Color Run, & Soldier Stroll
Run for fun, run to challenge yourself, or run in honor of a veteran! This fun event is hosted by Plainfield Recreation to honor and support our military troops and veterans. All proceeds will be donated to local veteran organizations within Plainfield.
Beginning at 9:15am with the National Anthem, the Color Fun Run will then take off at 9:30am. The Soldier Stroll and 5K will follow starting at 10:15 am with the walkers to start in back of the runners.
The route will begin and end at Plainfield High School and follow a route that moves through the athletic fields, Shepard Hill Elementary, and a small neighborhood. Both races are intended for all abilities and skill levels. The majority of the route is paved, with only a small area that cuts through a gravel parking lot. There are also some minor inclines and declines within the route.
