Linda's Craft Corner.....and More! - Ice Cream & Conversation Scrabble, Yahtzee, Mahjong, Wed. July 2nd: Players choice. Bring a friend and have some fun! Teams will be formed based on the number of participants present. Card Making, Open Forum, Thurs. July 3rd: This will be an open-forum class where I will bring out an assortment of stamps, different colored inks, paper punches, colored pencils and markers, and other goodies for you to work with. We always have a great time in the card making classes, as everyone shares their knowledge and ideas! Trivia With Friends, Wed. July 9th: Come exercise your brain and sharpen your memory by taking part in this fun group. This activity is always engaging and entertaining, as everyone in attendance offers stories and interesting facts pertaining to the trivia questions. You will have a great time, while also learning some interesting new things!Ice Cream & Conversation, Thurs. July 10th: For this event, we will meet under the pavilion at Lion’s Park. The park is located right beside the Plainfield Town Hall. This will be a fun social affair where I will serve some ice cream treats! We can chit-chat, take a walk on the track, try our hand at “shooting a few hoops,” play a board game, etc. Bring a lawn chair if you’d like. In case of rain, we will meet in the Craft Room. Origami Crane, Wed. July 16th: The classic Origami model, this crane will be a bit time-consuming to make. There are a lot of folds, but none are too tricky at all. Make just 1 or a whole sedge of them!Tissue Paper Flower Bouquet, Thurs. July 17th: In this class, you’ll relive childhood memories while I show you different techniques for making these fabulous flowers out of nothing more than tissue paper! An assortment of tissue paper colors will be available for you to create your own bunch of posies! Vase is not included. Chalkboard Wheel of Fortune, Wed. July 23rd: This class will be a modification of the popular TV game show “Wheel of Fortune.” Come and join me for this entertaining guessing contest; we always have loads of fun in this class! Learning Through Documentaries, Thurs July 24th: This month’s documentary, (which was cancelled in May) put out by NOVA, is entitled “Easter Island Origins.” The description of this 1-hour program is as follows: “New evidence reveals the real story of Easter Island and the builders of its stone heads.” The program will be followed by a period of interactive conversation. Painted Lady Bug Rocks, Wed. July 30th: Invite these little fellas onto your patio or into a potted plant to live. We will use beach rocks to create these beloved little insects! Make just 1 or a whole loveliness of them (yes, that IS what a group of lady bugs is called!) History Room Tour, Thurs. July 31st: Our incomparable Municipal Historian, Ruth Bergeron, has agreed to host a History Room Tour for me. Come and explore the unique and story-worthy items on display!
